Top Filipino Virtual Assistant Services Hired by Clients

Working virtual assistant by Evangeline Millana, Philippines

When I was looking for a topic for my first blog post, I came across the second highest prompt in ChatGPT for the keyword “Virtual Assistant Philippines.” The prompt was:

“Top virtual assistant services available for Filipino freelancers.”

What this prompt likely means is the top virtual assistant services or niches that Filipino freelancers commonly offer and that clients are actively hiring for. These are the services that international clients outsource to the Philippines.

Filipino virtual assistants are highly sought after worldwide for several reasons. Many Filipinos have strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, and can easily adapt to international work environments. Filipino professionals are also known for their reliability, professionalism, and strong work ethic. Another reason many companies outsource to the Philippines is cost efficiency. Businesses from countries such as the US, Australia, and the UK can hire skilled Filipino freelancers at more affordable rates compared to hiring locally.

In addition, Filipino freelancers often possess diverse skill sets. Many VAs are considered “jack of all trades,” capable of handling multiple types of tasks depending on the needs of the business. and the list of advantages continues.

Here are some of the most common virtual assistant services that Filipino freelancers offer:

1) Administrative Support

In this role, the VA performs routine tasks such as calendar management, email management, and project management. The VA may also handle data entry and file organization, such as placing PDF files and spreadsheets in the correct folders, renaming them properly, or converting them from one format to another. Other tasks may include light research and travel or booking arrangements.

These tasks are usually beginner-friendly. Even VAs with no previous experience can successfully deliver these tasks with proper training and attention to detail.

2) Social Media Management

This is one of the most in-demand niches, especially during the pandemic when many physical businesses were forced to move online. Companies needed people who could manage their social media accounts to stay connected with their customers.

In this niche, the VA prepares and posts social media content such as graphics, reels, and videos across different platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn. Some VAs also handle comment and message replies, hashtag research, trending audio research, and even social media analytics and reporting.

3) Customer Support

In this niche, the VA helps businesses communicate with and assist customers remotely. This can include both voice support (phone calls) and non-voice support (email or live chat). The VA ensures clear, courteous, and solution-focused communication with customers.

The goal is to promptly address inquiries, resolve issues efficiently, and maintain a positive customer experience.

4) Bookkeeping and Financial Assistance

Bookkeeping VAs help businesses manage their financial records and transactions remotely. Their job is to keep the company’s finances organized, accurate, and up to date.

Tasks often include managing invoices, recording expenses, assisting with payroll, and performing bank and account reconciliation.

To succeed in this role, one must have basic accounting or bookkeeping knowledge, strong attention to detail, and at least familiarity with financial software or tools such as QuickBooks or Xero.

5) CRM (Customer Relationship Management) / Database Management

In this niche, VAs keep business information organized, accurate, and up to date. Tasks may include updating customer information, managing leads and contacts, performing data entry and data cleaning, and tracking customer interactions.

To succeed in this role, a VA should have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with tools like Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. Experience with CRM platforms such as GoHighLevel and HubSpot is also a huge advantage.

6) Real Estate Virtual Assistance

The role is designed to support real estate professionals (brokers and agents) across a wide range of services, such as:

Listing management on platforms like MLS, Zillow, Realtor.com, and other property advertisement sites

Lead generation and CRM management

Cold calling and customer support

Social media management, including content creation, graphic design, reels, and video editing

Seller and buyer coordination

Drafting contracts and sending for e-signatures

Website content management and calendar management

This position requires flexibility, willingness to learn, and the ability to handle diverse tasks. Success in this role depends on strong organizational, technical, and interpersonal skills. The ultimate goal is to make your realtor clients’ lives easier, helping them generate leads, streamline processes, and close deals efficiently.

7) Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

SEO is another service that can be offered by both a virtual assistant  and an SEO Specialist.

Basically, what the freelancer does here is help businesses’ websites appear higher in search engine results like Google, Bing, and now even AI platforms like ChatGPT and Gemini. The goal is to generate more organic traffic to a website and turn those visitors into paying customers.

When it comes to the roles of an SEO VA and an SEO Specialist, both Google and ChatGPT generally describe an ” SEO VA as a remote, cost-effective, and task-oriented professional who executes assigned SEO activities. An SEO VA usually handles support tasks such as uploading content, conducting basic keyword research, sending outreach emails, and preparing reports.

On the other hand, an SEO Specialist is a strategic expert who defines the overall SEO strategy, analyzes performance data, and directly influences growth decisions.

The key difference is that the VA focuses on implementation, while the specialist focuses on strategy. SourceGoogle (click)

However, in my humble opinion, the reality in the Philippine freelancing industry is that these roles are not always mutually exclusive. Both SEO VAs and SEO Specialists often perform both strategic and implementation tasks at the same time.

Regardless of whether you identify yourself as an SEO VA or an SEO Specialist, it is important—and highly advantageous—to understand the full SEO process, including:

  • Data Benchmarking

  • Keyword Research and Mapping

  • Website Audit

  • On-Page SEO

  • Off-Page SEO

  • Monthly Reporting and Data Analysis

Knowing how to perform the full cycle of SEO will help you expand your opportunities in the market and increase your chances of landing clients.
